Spark Plug Ceramic Cracked
I had this happen on a 1990 ford aerostar.
Spark plug ceramic cracked. It could even be that one or more of the spark plugs are not good i e. It could be the leads or it could be that one or more of the spark plugs do not have the correct gap set. That is the whole point of using ceramic for the spark plug insulators. An electrode is fashioned at the bottom of the spark plug or engine side of a plug body and it has two components.
A hot firing tip commonly called the electrode and a ground strap prong that sits over it in a curved or straight fashion. From dropping them ceranic is very brittle. Since they can quickly and quietly fracture the glass side windows on most cars ninja rocks have been used in smash and grab auto burglaries since at least 1995. 2012 10 03 08 03 14 2012 10 03 08 03 14.
I can not prove that the spark plug broke my crank but i am pretty sure that is what happened. They have no traditional association with the ninja or ninjutsu only being named. The cylinder head had a crack. Ninja rocks are broken shards of spark plugs that are formed by smashing the ceramic portion of the spark plug with a hammer or other large object.
Can removing a spark plug crack. I would start with checking the items you directly worked with to ensure everything was put back on properly. Btw the heat in the combustion chamber will not melt or in any way damage the broken bits of ceramic insulator. Spark plugs have a central core of copper encased in a steel jacket and outside protective shield made up of a ceramic insulator.
